Thousands of devotees visit temples on Ram Navami in Maha

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Ram Navami, the festival marking the birth of Lord Ram, being celebrated with pomp and gaiety here as well as across the region of Marathwada on Thursday.

Ram Navami falls on the ninth day of the first month Chaitra in the Hindu calendar and the day is also significant as it marks the end of nine-day fast also known as Chaitra Navratri.

To commemorate the auspicious festival, grand prayer or ‘Maha aarti’ being organised at 1200 hours at the Ram temple located at Kiradpura locality here.

The members from saffron parties will attent the ‘Maha aarti’ along with thousands of devotees.

The Vishva Hindu Parishad activists organised ‘pooja’ at several Ram temples across the city.

According to the reports, similar spiritual arrangements were made at Ram temples across the seven other districts of Marathwada region.

Elaborate security arrangements were put in place to avert any untoward incident during the celebrations
