New Delhi: Supreme Court on Thursday said it will hear the plea filed by the Muslim side, seeking a direction that worshipers should be allowed to pray inside the Gyanvapi premises keeping in view the Ramzan, after hearing a mentioning by the lawyer of the Muslim party.

Senior Advocate, Huzefa Ahmadi, appearing for the Muslim party, mentioned the Gyanvapi mosque matter in the Supreme Court that this is a month of Ramzan and the worshippers should be able to pray inside the premises, to which, the Apex Court agreed to hear it on April 14.

“Please file an application in this regard and we will take this up for hearing on April 14, 2023,” a two-judge bench of the Supreme Court, headed by the Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dr Dhananjaya Yeshwant Chadrachud and also comprising Justice J B Pardiwala, said.

Ahmadi, for the Muslim side, pleaded in the Supreme court that the practice of Wuzu be allowed inside the mosque premises.

It is to be noted that the Wuzu area is the centre of dispute since the Hindu side claims that a Shivling has been found at the centre of the wuzu area.
