‘Suit-boot sarkar ‘ benefiting its friends: Rahul

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday accused Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre of benefiting its “friends” and said its only target is to fill their ‘coffers’.

He also accused the ruling dispensation of not paying attention to various issues including inflation and unemployment.

“The income of poor class decreased by 50 per cent, while rich class increased by 40 per cent. Middle class fell by 10 per cent. No matter how much inflation, unemployment torments the public, the ‘suit-boot sarkar’ has only one target- to fill the coffers of friends,” he tweeted.

The former Congress president along with tweet also shared a graphic titled “Two Indias: Poor poorer, rich richer” highlighting the income growth in the country from 2016-21.

Rahul has been accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of favouring “few industrialist” including billionaire businessman Gautam Adani.

He had earlier asked the PM to disclose about his relationship with Adani after the Hindenburg Research Report on Adani Group surfaced.

The Hindenburg Research report alleged the Adani Group had engaged in stock manipulation and accounting fraud schemes over the course of decades.
