Indian wrestlers have resumed their protest against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) Chief, Brij Bhushan Singh, who had staged a protest earlier this year as well, at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar with a fresh police complaint. As per 7 women wrestlers who have filed a sexual harassment complaint against Singh at the Connaught Place police station, an FIR is yet to be filed.

The protesting wrestlers have said that they are going through mental torture as it has been three months but they have not received a response from the Ministry of Sports, despite the issue being about the respect of female athletes. Wrestler Vinesh Phogat said, “We are going to sleep and eat here till we get justice. We have been trying to contact the Sports Minister, Anurag Thakur, and other relevant authorities for three months. The members of the committee are not responding to us, sports ministry has also not said anything, they don’t even pick up our calls. We have won medals for the country and have put our careers at stake for this”.

The wrestlers have also said that one of the 7 girls who have filed complaints against Brij Bhushan Singh is a minor, and hence, there must be a POCSO case filed against the accused.
