Telangana Govt to provide financial aid to farmers for crop loss : Minister

Hyderabad: Telangana Finance Minister T Harish Rao on Wednesday said that the state government would provide financial assistance to the farmers whose crops have been damaged due to untimely rains.

The Minister inspected the damaged crops in many villages of Siddipet Assembly Constituency.

Farmers suffered severe losses due to hailstorms and their harvested crops have been destroyed.

Thousands of acres of crops are lost in Nancharupally, Bakrichepyala, Ponnala, Ensanpally, Tadkapally, Venkatapur, Bussapur, Irkod, Thornala, Thimmapur, Pedda Gundavelli, Dumpalapalli, and Dubbaka villages.

Siddipet Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil, who visited these areas along with officials, inspected the damaged paddy crops.

Harish Rao encouraged the farmers who lost their crops not to lose heart and assured that the government would support the farmers.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was aware of the situation and has promised compensation, the Minister said.

He also directed the district administration to collect details of the damaged grain crops as soon as possible.
