On Tuesday, June 13, the ‘Kisan Kalyan Mahakumbh’ was organized in the Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh, the highlight of which was the ‘Mukhyamantri Krishak Byaj Maafi Yojana 2023’, under which the Madhya Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, has announced to waive off the debt interest on the farmers of the state. Along with the Chief Minister of the state, Union Defense Minister, Rajnath Singh was also present on the occasion, who was the chief guest for the event.

The scheme aims at waiving off debt interest amounting to Rs 2123 crore on more than 11 lakh farmers of Madhya Pradesh. And in the first stage of the scheme’s implementation, debt interest worth 1500 crore Rupees on 8 lakh farmers has been waived off.

Addressing the gathering at the event, MP CM Chauhan said, “Many farmers could not repay their loans and became ‘defaulters’, and the bundle of debt interest came up on their heads. But today, Rajnath Singh and I will bring down the same bundle of debt interest from their heads by transferring 2200 crore Rupees into the bank accounts of the farmers”.

Along with this, with a single click of a button, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana’, or the ‘Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme’, distributed the promised amount of Rs 2933 crore to the 44.49 lakh farmers who had applied for the benefits of the scheme during the year 2021-22.

It is noteworthy at this point that the Madhya Pradesh State Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in the month of December, 2023.
