Fourth batch of 4758 Amarnath pilgrims leave from Jammu base camp

Jammu: The fourth batch of 4758 Shri Amarnath Yatra pilgrims on Monday amid the chants of ‘Bam Bam Bhole’ left for the cave shrine from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas base camp here.

An official said that a fresh batch of 4758 pilgrims left the base camp.

He said that 3030 pilgrims including 2426 males, 392 females, four children, 177 sadhus and 31 sadhvis left for Pahalgam in a convoy of 127 vehicles.

He further added that 1728 pilgrims comprising 1355 males, 335 females, 15 children, 21 sadhus and two sadhvis left in a fleet of 96 vehicles for the Baltal base camp.

The security personnel escorted the yatra convoy.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on June 30 flagged off the first batch from Yatri Niwas Jammu.
