New Delhi: R. Balki definitely couldn’t have chosen a better setting for the world premiere of his newest film, ‘Ghoomer’.

The sports drama, which stars Shabana Azmi, Abhishek Bachchan, Saiyami Kher, and Angad Bedi, will have its world premiere in Melbourne, which is known as Australia’s sports city.

It was chosen to start the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), which begins on August 11.

In the film Ghoomer, Kher plays a paraplegic athlete who flourishes as a cricketer under the direction of Bachchan’s coach.

Being aired in the nation of the late Shane Warne, of whom Kher is still a devoted admirer, gives her great pride.

“Going to the home of the legendary Shane Warne to screen our film was the best possible opportunity, in my opinion.

I’ve been achieving my lifelong desire to participate in sports on screen ever since I began acting. I’m pleased it’s finally happened,” she exclaims.
