On Thursday, July 13, at around 1 PM in the afternoon, a massive fire broke out in Greater Noida West’s Galaxy Plaza, which resulted in chaos all over the area. As soon as the fire was seen, people panicked and started running helter-skelter for their lives. In the meanwhile, many people jumped off the third floor to escape, due to which a significant number of people have been injured. As per reports, the reason behind the fire was a short circuit.

Many people were also seen hanging from windows of the fifth floor, and after receiving the information of the fire, a fire team reached the spot immediately, to control the fire. In all, five people have been injured and three out of them are serious, who were admitted to a hospital nearby by the police and the locals.

DCP Anil Kumar Yadav said, ‘When the police arrived at the location, it was seen that a lot of people were stuck. And the scared people broke the glass window on the third floor and tried to escape, but as the height was too much, they could not jump and remained hanging on the window. That was when the locals came rushing and placed mattresses on the ground below, so that if someone falls or jumps, severe injuries could be averted.’
