Chennai: Governor R.N.Ravi and Chief Minister M.K.Stalin on Saturday condoled the death of nine passengers in a fire accident in a train coach near Madurai Railway junction, even as the Tamil Nadu government announced a solatium of Rs three lakh each to the families of the deceased.
In a post on X, Mr Ravi said “anguished by the loss of precious lives in a fire incident in a train coach near #Madurai.”
“My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family members of the deceased”, he said.
“Wish for the safety and speedy recovery of injured”, he added.
In a statement here, Mr Stalin said he was deeply saddened by the tragic incident near Madurai Railway junction where nine precious lives were lost in a train fire accident.
He expressed deep anguish and grief over the fire accident and announced a solatium of Rs three lakh each to the families of the deceased.
“My heartfelt condolences go out to the families of the deceased. To support the affected families, an ex-gratia of Rs 3 lakh will be provided”, he said.
PMK Founder Dr.S.Ramadoss and leaders of various political parties, including MDMK General Secretary, deposed AIADMK Coordinator O.Panneerselvam also condoled the death of nine passengers in the train fire incident.
