PM Modi distributes over 51,000 appointment letters under Rozgar mela Scheme

New DelhI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits via video conferencing under the Rozgar Mela scheme.

This was the eighth edition of the Rozgar Mela, which is held in 45 different places across the country.

Through this Rozgar Mela event, the Ministry of Home Affairs recruited personnel in various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) as well as in Delhi Police.

Addressing the new appointees, the Prime Minister said,” India will become one of the world’s top three economies in this decade and I give this guarantee, I will do that with full responsibility”.

He added that the automobiles, and pharma sectors are growing very fast and will create huge job opportunities in the country.

Moi said from food to pharma, space to startups, it is necessary for all sectors to grow for any economy.

Throwing light on the expansion of the automobile and the auto components industries, the Prime Minister informed that both industries are worth more than 12 lakh crores and are expected to grow further in the years to come.

He also touched upon the food processing industry, which was worth approximately 26 lakh crores last year, and stated that it is bound to rise to 35 lakh crores in the next three and a half years. “With expansion there will be increased employment opportunities”, he added.

The Prime Minister said the tourism sector is likely to contribute over Rs 20 lakh crore to the Indian economy by 2030 and will create 13-14 crore new jobs.

Modi said, “These are not just numbers,” and explained that these developments will impact the lives of common citizens by creating jobs, ease of living, and increasing income.”

He said the present government focuses on purchasing made-in-India laptops and computers with a vocal local mantra, which will give a boost to manufacturing and jobs.

The Prime Minister stated that India’s exports have increased dramatically, indicating that the country’s industrial sector has performed well in the last nine years.

Modi recalled the launch of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna on this day nine years ago.

“This scheme has played a big role in creating employment along with economic empowerment of the villages and the poor”, he said.

He informed that under the scheme, during the last nine years, more than 50 crore bank accounts have been opened.

“Many youth got jobs as banking correspondents at Bank Mitras. More than 21 lakh youth are engaged as Bank Mitras or Bank Sakhis, PM informed and said Jan Dhan Yojana also reinforced the Mudra Yojana.

He informed that more than Rs 24 lakh crore worth of collateral-free loans have been disbursed so far under the Mudra Yojana.

Modi mentioned addressing lakhs of youths in many Rozgar Melas and said that they got employment in the public service or other sectors.

“All of you youth are my biggest strength in the mission of bringing change in government and governance,, the Prime Minister remarked.

Congratulating the new appointees, he stated that they will become the ‘Amrit Rakshaks’ of the people of India in this Amrit Kaal after receiving their appointment letter.

Modi said several changes have been made in the recruitment process for paramilitary forces to open new avenues for our youth.

The Prime Minister said this time, the Rozgar Mela is being organised at a time when the nation is filled with pride and self-confidence. He said Chandrayaan-3 and its rover Pragyan are continuously sending historic photos from the moon.

He stressed the importance of maintaining an attitude of learning among paramilitary forces and highlighted the 600+ courses available on the IGOT Karmayogi portal.

“More than 20 lakh government employees have registered on this portal. I urge that all of you also join this portal and take advantage of it”, the Prime Minister said.

The Mela is a step towards fulfilling the commitment of the Prime Minister to accord the highest priority to employment generation.

It is expected to act as a catalyst for employment generation and provide meaningful opportunities for the youth’s empowerment and participation in national development.
