Maha Govt announces package of over Rs 46,000 cr for development of Marathwada

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Maharashtra Cabinet, headed by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, on Saturday allocated a package of Rs 46,579.34 crore to transform the Marathwada region.

Addressing a press conference after the special state cabinet meeting held at office of Smart city here on eve of Amrit Mahotsav of Marathwada Liberation Day, he said that the package also includes the works costing Rs 9,437.90 crore that were taken up in today’s cabinet meeting.

He announced the decision to renovate three 300-year-old bridges in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city.

He said that a statue of Swami Ramanand Theerth, who led the Marathwada liberation struggle, will be erected in New Delhi, the capital of the country.

In today’s cabinet meeting, various decisions related to water resources, public works, planning, rural

development, agriculture and animal husbandry departments, etc., were taken.

After the year 2016, this was the first state cabinet meeting held at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar today on occasion of the Amrit Mahotsav of Marathwada Liberation War.

The Chief Minister also gave information about the ongoing development works in Marathwada Division.

While, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis informed about implementation of the decisions taken during his tenure as chief minister in 2016.

Before the meet, the Chief Minister announced that the Aurangabad Revenue Division has been renamed as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Osmanabad as Dharashiv.
