Mumbai: The activists of NCP (Sharad Pawar) Youth wing on Monday staged an agitation by allegedly burning copies of a GR issued by the Maharashtra government to fill up the posts in many departments on contractual basis.

Addressing a rally, party’s Regional president Mahboob Shaikh said that the GR issued by the government is a threat to employment of youths.

He accused the state government of playing with future of the young generation.

BJP, after coming to power, had assured to provide employment and government jobs to unemployed youths, the NCP leader recalled and said that instead of providing regular employment and government jobs to them, the government is now giving jobs on contract basis, thus crushing the dream of a common youth of getting a government job.

This government is not a government of farmers and common people, but of industrialists and contractors, he charged.

Therefore, they burned the copies of GR as a sign of protest , added Shaikh.
