With more than 3 years of Sushant Singh’s Rajput untimely and suspicious death, the campaign seeking justice for him, has still not died down, as people from all walks of life continue to do their part, on social media, as well as on the ground, to put some pressure on the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), to take a decisive step in the case, as allegedly, all the evidences strongly pointed towards the fact that Rajput was murdered in cold blood on June 14, 2020.

Now, a fresh PIL has been filed in the Bombay High Court, by the ‘Supreme Court and High Court Litigants Association of India’, through its president, Rashid Khan Pathan. The petitioner has sought action against the CBI officials involved in the case, responsible for deliberately delaying the investigation, and helping the accused, by their acts of commission and omission.

The petitioner has requested the court to direct the CBI to submit its reply and status report within 1 month, on 16 crucial points regarding the alleged murder case, including the mobile location and call record details of suspected individuals in the cases related to the deaths of both Sushant and Disha Salian; the details of the investigation carried out on serious allegations of child abuse and trafficking against certain individuals by Narayan Rane; relevant CCTV footages; details of the injuries found on the body of Rajput; investigations into the testimonies of the eye-witness in the case of Salian’s death, covered by different news channels; investigations into the testimony of the mortuary worker, who conducted the autopsy of Rajput, Roop Kumar Shah.

The petition further seeks answers from the CBI regarding aspects like the forged autopsy report prepared by AIIMS doctor, Dr Sudhir Gupta; dereliction of duty of Mumbai police personnel, etc.

The petition was filed in the court on Tuesday, 26 September, and will be listed on Tuesday, 3 October, 2023.
