Kolkata: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned TMC general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, asking him to appear with documents at its CGO Complex on October 3, 2023, at 1030 hours .

The summon happened at a time when the Diamond Harbour Lok Sabha member Banerjee is scheduled to be in New Delhi to participate in the party’s protest programme against alleged non-transfer of central funds for various schemes, including MGNREGA.

” Earlier this month, the ED summoned me on a day coinciding with an important coordinating meeting of #INDIA in Delhi.

I dutifully appeared and complied with the served summons,” Banerjee, who is the nephew of chief minister Mamata Banerjee, said on Thursday.

” First meeting of INDIA’s coordination committee is on 13th Sept in Delhi, where I’m a member. But, @dir_ed conveniently served me a notice just now to appear before them on the VERY SAME DAY! One can’t help but marvel at the TIMIDITY & VACUOSNESS of the 56-inch chest model. Fear Of India,” Banerjee said on his last call by the ED.

The ED probing the alleged teachers recruitment scam following the Calcutta high court directive in a notification under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, called Banerjee, the CEO of Leaps and Bounds Pvt Ltd, to appear before the investigation officials on October 3, 2023 (Tuesday). sources added.
