On Saturday, December 9, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) suspended its Lok Sabha MP from Amroha, Danish Ali, for indulging in ‘anti-party’ activities. The party’s national general secretary, Satish Chandra Mishra, in an official letter, announced that Danish Ali was suspended from the party with immediate effect.

On December 3, Ali had written to Lok Sabha Speaker, Om Birla, claiming that the report to be tabled by the Ethics Committee over the ‘cash-for-query’ accusation against TMC MP Mahua Moitra, has a full paragraph on his conduct during the panel’s hearing in the case. It is noteworthy that the same report was tabled in the house on Friday, December 8, and Moitra was expelled from the Lok Sabha.

In his letter to speaker Birla, Danish Ali had urged to get the paragraph about him deleted from the report, before it got presented in the house.

After Moitra’s expulsion from the Parliament, Danish Ali held a one-man protest yesterday, to demand ‘justice’ for the expelled TMC MP. Ali was seen with a placard hanging around his neck, which stated. ‘Do not turn the victim into the culprit.’

In an official statement, the BSP said, ‘You were warned many times against statements or actions against the policies, ideology, and discipline of the party. But despite that, you have continued to act against the party.’
