On the night of Saturday, December 9, two teams of Rajasthan and Delhi police, nabbed the alleged killers of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, from Hotel Kamal Palace, Sector 24, Chandigarh. The two accused, Rohit Rathore and Nitin Fauji, were staying in the hotel on fake IDs, and were planning to go abroad, as told by Delhi police.

Rathore of Jaipur and Fauji of Mahendragarh, Haryana, had allegedly been promised 50,000 Rs each for killing Gogamedi.

The duo of the attackers was accompanied by another associate, Udham Singh, who had allegedly helped Rathore and Fauji to evade arrest. All three have been taken to Jaipur for interrogation by Rajasthan police. As per Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), Amit Goel, the arms used in the murder of Gogamedi are yet to be recovered.

It was on December 5 that Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi was killed in his own house, and soon after the crime took place, the Delhi police started tracking the shooters. As per the input of the Rajasthan police, the two attackers, after killing Gogomedi, had fled to Didwana in a taxi, from where they took the bus to Delhi. It was in Dharuhera that the duo got down next, and took an autorickshaw to Rewari railway station, from where they took a train to Hisar.

Rathore and Fauji then met Udham Singh, who further helped them to evade the police. With Udham’s assistance, the duo hired a taxi for Himachal Pradesh’s Manali, from where they came back to Chandigarh on December 9. From Chandigarh, they had a plan to go to Goa and further south in India.
