67 films including last screening of ‘Aattam’ on Dec 14

Thiruvananthapuram: Anand Ekarshi’s debut feature Aattam (The Play), is all set for its last screening on Thursday.

The film has already received huge audience support at the festival. The film revolves around a woman who faces sexual assault in a space she had considered safe.

Besides, 66 other films will also be shown across 14 screens on Thursday. This includes eight Oscar-nominated films. Among these, seven films are having their last screening, which include Tiger Stripes, Perfect Days, About Dry Grasses, The Delinquents, Fallen Leaves, The Settlers, and Blaga’s Lessons.

Apart from Aattam, eight Malayalam films also had their last screening on the day. This includes Valassai Paravakal, Family, Ennennum, Kaathal-the Core, Five First Dates, B 32 Muthal 44 Vare, Thadavu and O Baby. Two of Malayalam’s classics Nirmalyam by M T Vasudevan Nair and Bhoothakkannadi by A K Lohithadas will also be showing under the special screening and restored classics categories, respectively on Thursday.

As many as 24 films, including Karim Kassem’s Thiiird, Abbas Amini’s Endless Borders, and Molly Manning Walker’s How to Have Sex, will be screened under the World Cinema Category on the seventh day. Among these, 23 films are having their final screening.

Uttam Kamati’s Kherwal, Harshad Nalawade’s Follower, Dominic Sangma’s Rapture, and Shahrukhkhan Chavada’s Kayo Kayo Color will also have their last screening under the Indian Cinema Now category.

Nathalia Syam’s Footprints on Water, Minju Kim’s A Letter from Kyoto, and Amanda Nell Eu’s Tiger Stripes are the movies showing under the Female Gaze category.

11 films, including Agra by Kanu Behl, Family by Don Palathara, Sunday by Shokir Kholikov, Power Alley by Lillah Halla will also be screened on Thursday under the International Competition section.
