Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday said his Government is “committed to further improving infrastructure in Itanagar to bring ease of living”.
Khandu said this moment after dedicating to the people three key infrastructure projects in the Naharlagun area.
“Today marks a significant milestone as I dedicated to people projects worth about Rs 70 crore,” Khandu posted on X.
The inaugurated projects include double lane steel arch bridge at Borum, bypass road from Pappu-Nallah bridge point to Sood, and a composite bridge over Pachin river to connect the Naharlagun Railway Station. The projects were launched in the presence of local MLA Techi Kaso, Advisor to PWD Minister, Phurpa Tsering and Commissioner PWD Kaling Tayeng.
“These projects are integral to alleviating traffic congestion in the Itanagar Capital Complex. A total of seven bridges are being completed in Capital Complex area including the two dedicated today to further strengthen the infrastructure,” he said.
More roads will be built such as a 30-km double-lane highway connecting Naharlagun Railway Station and Donyi Polo Airport. This will facilitate seamless flow of commuters from the railway station to the airport, Khandu informed.
The Chief Minister also stated that the CC pavements all over the capital region are in completion phase. “Our commitment remains unwavering as we continue to work for a more efficient and accessible Itanagar for all its residents,” he said.
