J&K: Police attaches “illegal properties” of 2 drug peddlers in Baramulla

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday attached the “illegal properties” of two drug peddlers in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Police said that a single-story residential house and a double story shopping complex with two separate washrooms, worth Rs 60 lakhs, belonging to notorious drug peddlers Mohammad Ayoob Shah and Ghulam Mohammad Shah, aka Gulshah, were attached at Ladoora Rafiabad.

“The action was taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act of 1985 linked with case FIR No. 18/2024 u/s 8/21 NDPS Act of Police Station Baramulla,” the police added.

“The property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of the investigation or inquiry conducted by the police. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the drug peddlers,” police said, adding that this operation reaffirmed the commitment of the police to combat the drug menace.
