New Delhi: The Delhi government on Monday presented a Rs 76,000 crore budget for the year 2024–25, announcing Rs 1000 per month for every woman above the age of 18 years.

Invoking the “Ram Rajya,” Delhi Finance Minister Atishi said Delhi’s GDP has nearly tripled to Rs 11.08 crore from Rs 4.95 lakh crore in 2014–15.

Atishi said this while presenting her maiden budget for the year 2024–25, also the general election year.

“Delhi’s per-capita income has increased to Rs 4.62 lakh in 2023–24 from Rs 2.47 lakh in 2014–15,” she added, adding that this has surpassed the national average by two and a half times.

Commenting on the financial health of the electricity companies, Atishi said that these companies are still profitable even as Delhi gets 24 hours of free electricity. “If this isn’t Ram Rajya, then what is?” she added.

She said the Delhiites will continue to get 20,000 liters of free water. About 17 lakh consumers have benefited from this, she said, adding that about 1031 unauthorised colonies have been connected to the severe system.
