Mumbai: Rajan Bhichare, the candidate of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) here on Monday alleged that his opponent Naresh Maske of Shinde Sena has brought around 1,500 persons to Thane from outside and there is possibility of bogus voting.
Vichare claims come amid voting underway in the fifth and final phase of Lok Sabha elections for 13 seats in Maharashtra. He claimed that some people have been brought from outside to Kopri, Pachapakkhadi and Wagle Estate which fall under Thane Lok Sabha Constituency and bogus voting may take place.
“I have received information around 9 am that bogus voting will take place at many parts in Thane by afternoon. Therefore, I appeal to the citizens of the constituency to vote as much as possible early in the morning, said Vichare.
He has also filed a complaint with the election officer in this regard.
This year, for the first time in Thane Lok Sabha constituency, two Shiv Sainiks have come face to face Rajan Vichare of Shiv Sena (UBT) was challenged by Naresh Maske of Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
As both the candidates are equal, a tough fight is expected in Thane. Marathi speaking 51 percent votes in this constituency is expected to be divided between the two.
