Moscow: A fire broke out on Friday morning due to a drone strike in Russia’s Tambov Region, but it has already been contained, and there were no casualties, Governor Maksim Yegorov said on social media.

“Today, at 4:35 a.m. [local time, 01:35 GMT], an unmanned aerial vehicle struck an oil depot in the Michurinsky District of the Tambov Region. A small fire broke out as a result. The fire is contained at the moment,” Yegorov said on Telegram.

He added that the oil depot’s fire department and 11 fire engines, which promptly arrived on the scene, were engaged in extinguishing the fire.

The governor also said there were no casualties, adding that the closest settlement would be evacuated if necessary.
