GTA President Mangirish Salelkar attends key meeting to draft National Information Technology Policy, 2024

Mangirish Salelkar, Founder-President of the Goa Technology Association (GTA), was invited by the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), to attend the prestigious consultation meeting for drafting the National Information Technology Policy, 2024. This significant event was attended by representatives of top MNCs and national IT trade bodies, chaired by Secretary MeitY, S. Krishnan, and took place on 15th July, 2024, in Pune.

During this high-profile meeting, Salelkar represented GTA and highlighted the current challenges faced by the IT industry of Goa. The issues he touched upon were, firstly, awareness and ecosystem development, which talked of emphasising the need for increased awareness and a robust ecosystem to support IT support in Goa. Secondly, he talked of the availability of skilled manpower, addressing the critical shortage of skilled professionals in the region, and the need for better training and education programmes.

Thirdly, he mentioned the pointer of access to market and government projects, advocating for improved access to both domestic and international markets, and increased opportunities for the local IT companies in government projects. Lastly, Salelkar talked about infrastructure development, highlighting the necessity for enhanced infrastructure to support the growing IT sector in Goa.

Mangirish Salelkar’s participation underscores the importance of Goa in the national IT landscape, and highlights GTA’s commitment to driving technological innovation and growth in the state. His insights and contributions at the meeting reflect the strategic vision of GTA in promoting a thriving IT ecosystem in Goa.
