Malvi Malhotra to debut in Punjabi film ‘Haye Bibiye Kithe Fas Gaye’

New Delhi: Malvi Malhotra, one of the leading actresses in the South Indian film industry, is set to make her debut in Punjabi cinema with Simranjit Singh Hundal’s film Haye Bibiye Kithe Fas Gaye.

Malvi, who has quickly become one of the busy heroines of Tollywood, gained widespread recognition after her debut in 2023 with director Akhil Sreenivas’s superhit film Abhyuham. She has been lauded for her performances, particularly in her recent release, Tiragabadara Saami, which further cemented her popularity in the South industry.

Reflecting on her journey, Malvi said, “I have always strived to impress my audiences with hard work in all genres. It’s an honour to be a part of the Punjabi film industry now.”

In Haye Bibiye Kithe Fas Gaye, Malvi plays the lead role opposite Dhira Gill, with Anita Devgan, Iftikhar Thakur, Ravinder Mand, and Deedar Gill also featuring in significant roles. Directed by Simranjit Singh Hundal, the film is highly anticipated.

To prepare for her role, Malvi has taken Punjabi tutorials to perfect her accent and ensure her dialogue delivery does justice to the character. She stated, “I’ve worked on several Punjabi music albums in the past, but this film required a deeper understanding of the language. I wanted to get the accent just right.”

This will be Malvi’s second release this month, following the success of Tiragabadara Saami. After the release of Haye Bibiye Kithe Fas Gaye, she will begin shooting for her next Punjabi film, Duma Dum Mast Kalandar, which will be shot in Australia and various locations in Punjab. She also has several exciting projects lined up in the South.
