Srinagar: The newly appointed chief of the Border Security Force (BSF), Daljit Singh Chaudhary, and top J&K Police brass went into a huddle in Srinagar to discuss the counter-infiltration measures in the Union Territory.

The BSF guards over 400 km of the border in Jammu region, and the border security of the region has come under focus following a series of attacks in several parts of Jammu region this year that have led to the killings of several security men. All these attacks came in those districts of Jammu that were mostly militancy-free till 2020.

A J&K Police spokesman on Saturday said DG BSF interacted with the Director General of Police, J&K R.R. Swain, and other top-ranked J&K Police officers. Special DG J&K Police & DGP Designate Nalin Prabhat was also present during the interaction.

“The officers during the interaction focused on the prevailing security scenario along the borders and in the hinterland with an emphasis on counter-infiltration measures to ensure the safety and security of the people,” the spokesman said.

“The officers highlighted the crucial importance of intelligence sharing and enhanced collaboration between the BSF and J&K Police in addressing security challenges,” he added.
