Kathmandu: The recent rain-induced floods and landslides in Nepal have resulted in the deaths of 228 people and left 25 others missing, media reports said on Wednesday.
Another 158 people have sustained injuries, the Himalayan reported.
Home Ministry spokesperson Rishiram Tiwari reported that 13,071 people have been rescued from flood-affected areas, and search, rescue, and relief assistance have been mobilised.
The government has prioritised rescue and relief efforts and is actively working to resume the operation of the obstructed highway, according to spokesperson Tiwari.
