Mumbai: The Women’s Selection Committee has picked India’s 16-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI home series against New Zealand.
Harmanpreet Kaur retained her place as captain after India’s early exit from the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.
She will lead the ODI side in the series against New Zealand in Ahmedabad next week.
In the squad named on Thursday, Richa Ghosh was a notable absentee, with the wicketkeeper-batter due to give her 12th standard board exams.
Asha Sobhana also misses out as she nurses an injury and was unavailable for selection. Pooja Vastrakar, who injured herself during the tournament in UAE, has been rested for this series.
There were maiden call-ups for Tejal Hasabnis, Saima Thakor and Priya Mishra in the squad.
