Washington: Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is expected to win Texas and the state’s 40 electoral votes, according to a projection made by the CNN broadcaster.

According to the broadcaster, Trump has received 54.1% of votes, while Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris is supported by 44.5%.

The US presidential election is taking place on November 5.
