US-based Allison Transmission inks MoU with Guidance TN, to reinvest USD 92 mn

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Industries Minister TRB Raaja announced that the US-based Allison Transmission has inked a MoU with Guidance TN and would reinvest USD 92 million (Rs 763 crore) in its Chennai plant as part of its expansion plans.

This represents a significant reinvestment of USD 92 million, that’s Rs. 763 crores,
coming in from 2025.

The facility will also create 167 direct and indirect jobs, doubling its current size.

In a social media post, he said “Thrilled to announce that today #AllisonTransmission
signed an MoU with the @Guidance_TN to expand its state-of-the-art #manufacturing
facility in Chennai. ”

“This expansion represents a significant reinvestment of $92 million, that’s Rs. 763 crores,
coming in from 2025. The facility will also create 167 direct and indirect #JobsForTN, doubling its current size!”, he said.

Mr Raaja said “What makes this reinvestment even more special is hearing directly from
#Allison’s senior leadership that in their 15 years in #TamilNadu, they’ve achieved zero
warranty claims, zero discharge, zero safety incidents and zero defects.”

“That’s Tamil Nadu’s manufacturing prowess at its best driven by the immensely talented #TNWorkforce !”, he added.
