PM Modi arrives in Brazil to enthusiastic welcome by Indian diaspora, to attend G20

Rio de Janeiro/New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Rio de Janeiro to attend the G20 summit being hosted by Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula Da Silva. He was welcomed by an enthusiastic diaspora crowd, and Brazilian Vedic scholars chanted Vedic mantras in front of PM Modi.

The PM said in posts on X that he looks forward to the G20 summit deliberations and fruitful talks with world leaders:

“Landed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to take part in the G20 Summit. I look forward to the Summit deliberations and fruitful talks with various world leaders.”

On the warm welcome by the diaspora he posted:

“Deeply touched by the warm and lively welcome from the Indian community upon arriving in Rio de Janeiro. Their energy reflects the affection that binds us across continents.”

The Indian community in Brazil was gathered in large numbers outside the hotel in Rio de Janeiro where PM Modi is staying and raised slogans of “Modi, Modi” on the PM’s arrival and crowded around him to greet him.

Brazilian Vedic scholars were also seated there and chanted Vedic mantras in front of PM Modi.

India is part of the G20 Troika along with Brazil and South Africa and has been actively contributing to the ongoing G20 Summit discussions. During the Summit, Prime Minister Modi will put forward India’s positions on various issues of global importance and build on the outcomes from the G20 New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration and Voice of the Global South Summits which were hosted by India in the past two years. On the sidelines of the G20 Summit, Prime Minister is expected to meet several leaders.
