Mumbai: Maharashtra Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan on Tuesday placed a wreath at the Police Martyrs’ Memorial in the premises of the Mumbai Police Commissionerate on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of the martyrdom of police officers and jawans during the Mumbai terrorist attack.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar also placed wreaths at the Police Martyrs’ Memorial.
A Police platoon presented the Salami Shastra and played the Bigulars’ Last Post while all dignitaries, uniformed officers and family members of martyrs saluted the police martyrs.
Soon after the salutation ceremony, the Governor met the family members of the police martyrs and senior retired and serving officers present on the occasion.
Guardian Ministers Deepak Kesarkar and Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik, DGP Rashmi Shukla, Dr I S Chahal, Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar and others were present.
