Tumakuru: B Ramachandrappa, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) for the Madhugiri sub-division in Tumakuru, Karnataka, was suspended on Friday after a disturbing video emerged, showing him in a compromising position with a woman inside his office bathroom.

The 35-second video, which was recorded by an unidentified individual, depicts the officer engaging in inappropriate conduct with the woman. The video halts when the woman notices she is being filmed and tries to shield herself behind the officer.

On Saturday, Tumakuru Superintendent of Police (SP) KV Ashok confirmed the incident, stating that a report had been submitted to senior police officers, including the IGP (Central Range), and eventually to the DGP Alok Mohan.

Following the submission of the report, DGP Mohan took swift action, suspending Ramachandrappa on Friday evening. The accused had previously served in Koratagere, the constituency of Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara.

An internal investigation is underway to thoroughly examine the situation and determine the misconduct. The state government has pledged to take all necessary measures to prevent such incidents in the future and to uphold police ethics.
