Hyderabad: A clash broke out between Youth Congress and BJP workers in Hyderabad after Congress activists attempted to storm the BJP state office on Tuesday in protest against remarks made by former BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri.

The BJP office was pelted with stones during the protest, leading to a scuffle between members of both parties.

The confrontation escalated as BJP workers tried to block Congress activists, resulting in a physical altercation where sticks were reportedly used. A BJP worker sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The protest was sparked by Ramesh Bidhuri’s controversial remarks comparing Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi’s cheeks to the roads in Delhi if the BJP came to power. Congress workers expressed outrage over the comments.

In a statement, while reacting to the incident, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar condemned the attack on the BJP office and criticised the Congress for resorting to violence.

He stated, “BJP will not sit idly by while its workers are attacked. If BJP workers decide, even the foundations of Congress offices, including Gandhi Bhavan, will be shaken.”

He demanded immediate action against the attackers and emphasised that taking the law into one’s hands is unacceptable. “Don’t mistake BJP workers’ patience for incompetence,” he warned, calling for legal action against those responsible for the violence.
