Great honour to represent India: EAM Jaishankar as he attends Trump inauguration

Washington/New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, who represented India at the swearing-in of Donald Trump as 47th President of the USA, described it as a great honour to represent the country at the ceremony watched by millions across the globe.

EAM Jaishankar was seated at the front row right next to the podium where Donald Trump and JD Vance took oath as President and Vice President respectively.

He posted on X about his attending the event.

“A great honour to represent India at the inauguration ceremony of @POTUS

President Donald J Trump and @VP Vice President JD Vance in Washington DC today.

“Attended the Inaugural festivities in Washington this evening.

“Occasion to meet key members of President Trump’s Administration.”

“Delighted to meet @SpeakerJohnson (House Speaker Mike Johnson) and

Majority Leader @LeaderJohnThune (Senate Majority Leader) at the evening function.”
