Manipur: 20 acres of poppy plantation destroyed, 2 nabbed

Imphal: Manipur police and security personnel nabbed two alleged militants at Bishnupur District on Wednesday during the last 24 hours, police said.

Security Forces and Forest Division, Tengnoupal in the presence of SDM, Tengnoupal conducted illegal poppy destruction at the Hill Ranges of Khudei Laipham & KhudeiK hullen and destroyed ten acres each in the said hill ranges; hence a total of 20 acres was destroyed under Tengnoupal-PS, Tengnoupal District.

Security Forces and Forest Division, Kangpokpi, in the presence of SDM, Kangpokpi, conducted illegal poppy destruction at the Hill Ranges of Naphai and destroyed 35 acres worth Rs 3.9 cr at Kangpokpi District.

Security forces dismantled two illegal bunkers at Thingel Leikai at a farm under Khongjom-PS, Thoubal District.
