New Delhi: India today strongly rejected Pakistan’s “baseless allegations” over the Jaffar train attack and slammed Islamabad saying the whole world knows where the global epicentre of terrorism lies.

In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said:

“We strongly reject the baseless allegations made by Pakistan.

“The whole world knows where the epicenter of global terrorism lies.

“Pakistan should look inwards instead of pointing fingers and shifting the blame for its own internal problems and failures on to others.”

The comments come as Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while chairing a meeting on the Balochistan situation, criticised what he called the “enemy’s propaganda” for the Jaffar train hijack, in which BLA separatists took over the passenger train with over 400 people in it.

Sharif said: “It is disappointing how our eastern neighbour promoted the narrative of Pakistan’s adversaries.”

The Pakistan PM, who visited Quetta along with members of his cabinet, told a press conference that 339 passengers had been rescued, while 33 terrorists were killed in the rescue operation.
