PM, others pay tribute to Dr Shivakumara Swamiji on birth anniversary

New Delhi/Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several political leaders on Tuesday paid tributes to Dr Shivakumara Swamiji on his birth anniversary, hailing his immense contributions to society through education, service, and spirituality.

Taking to X, PM Modi said, “Heartfelt tributes to His Holiness Dr Sree Sree Sree Sivakumara Swamigalu on the special occasion of his Jayanti. He is remembered as a beacon of compassion and tireless service. He showed how selfless action can transform society. His extraordinary efforts across various fields continue to inspire generations.” He further described the revered seer as a “guiding light, illuminating the path for society.”

Janata Dal (Secular) patriarch and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda called the revered pontiff a “Trividha Dasohi, Karnataka Ratna, Padma Bhushan awardee, and the head of Sri Siddaganga Math.” He added that Dr Shivakumara Swamiji’s service to millions of underprivileged children, providing them food, education, and shelter without discrimination, remains “unforgettable.”

Former Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai also paid homage, stating, “Devotional tributes to the greatest saint of the century Paramapujya Dr Sri Sri Sri Shivakumara Swamiji, on his birth anniversary. May the legacy he has created, by emphasising work, education, and service, continue for centuries to come, transforming society.”

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader DK Shivakumar lauded the seer’s contributions, saying, “Tribute to the venerable Dr Sri Sri Sri Shivakumar Mahashivayogi, a triple devotee, a Kayakayogi, a ‘walking god,’ on his 118th birth anniversary. His work to eradicate poverty, hunger, and social inequality is an example for us all.”

BJP Karnataka President Vijayendra Yediyurappa also paid his respects, calling Swamiji the “walking god.” He added, “His life is his message, the path he walked is the path of enlightenment, let us find meaning in our lives too, inspired by his achievements.”

Senior BJP leader BS Yediyurappa said, “Infinite salutations to the virtuous Dr Sri Sri Shivakumara Swamiji on his birth anniversary.”

BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal hailed the revered seer as the “saint of the century, the walking god, the Niranjana Swaroopi, and the Padma Vibhushan awardee,” and extended his tributes on the occasion.

Dr Shivakumara Swamiji, who headed the Sri Siddaganga Math in Karnataka, was widely respected for his philanthropic and educational contributions. His legacy continues to inspire many across the country.
