Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj a source of inspiration not only for the country but also for the world – Amit Shah

Kolhapur: Union Home minister Amit Shah on Saturday said Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was a source of inspiration not only for the state or country but also for the world.

Shah, who arrived from Pune by helicopter, accompanied with state chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and his two deputies – Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawa – earlier paid tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s statue at historic Raigad fort on his 345th death anniversary and on the occassion of centenary celebrations of the renovation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s mausoleum on Raigad fort.

He said there was need to spread the thoughts of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the country.

With great respect to Rajmata Jijamata, Shah said, “Jijau not only gave birth to Shivrai but gave the thoughts of independence to fulfilment the dream of ‘Swarajya’.

He said he has read the ‘ShivCharitra’ (Biography of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj). Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had put up a fight with’ ‘Adilshahi, Nizamshahi, Kutubshahi and Aurangzeb.

Fadnavis in his address warned those people who insulted Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

The State goverment was trying to erect a huge memorial of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Arabian sea in Mumbai in early.
