Washington: US President Donald Trump claimed that many world leaders and business leaders were asking the US administration to reduce customs tariffs.

“Since our announcement of LIBERATION DAY, many World Leaders and Business Executives have come to me asking for relief from Tariffs,” Trump wrote on the Truth Social social network.

The US President also noted that the business community always has an easy path: “Come to America, and build in America!”

On April 2, Donald Trump announced the introduction of import tariffs on goods from 185 countries and territories. Universal tariffs of 10% came into effect on April 5, and individual duties on April 9. On April 9, Trump announced that he was suspending tariff increases on products from 75 countries that had expressed a willingness to negotiate for 90 days. These countries will be subject to import tariffs of 10%. The US president said he was open to discussing tariff levels with trading partners. He also did not rule out the possibility of extending this three-month pause.
