Moscow: The crew of the Soyuz MS-26 spacecraft safely returned to Earth from the International Space Station (ISS) Sunday morning, the Russian state space corporation Roscosmos said on its website.

The descent module carrying Roscosmos cosmonauts Alexei Ovchinin, Ivan Wagner and NASA astronaut Donald Pettit landed at 04:20 Moscow time (0120 GMT) near the city of Jezkazgan in central Kazakhstan.

The Soyuz MS-26 undocked from the Russian segment’s Rassvet module of the ISS before its return, Roscosmos said, adding that the deorbit and descent operations proceeded as planned.

Since their arrival on the ISS in September 2024, the crew conducted 43 applied science experiments, performed a spacewalk, and participated in the docking of one crewed and two cargo spacecraft.

This mission marked the third spaceflight for Alexei Ovchinin, the second for Ivan Wagner, and the fourth for veteran NASA astronaut Donald Pettit.
