New Delhi: A Delhi court on Thursday dismissed the application of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack accused Tahawwur Hussain Rana seeking to speak with his family members.

Special Judge for NIA cases Chander Jit Singh after hearing the submissions on behalf of both sides dismissed the application of Rana.

Counsel for Rana had filed an application before the Special NIA Court seeking the permission of the court to allow him to talk with his family members by submitting that his family must be worried about his well-being, so being a fundamental right the same may be allowed.

The NIA opposed it by submitting that if the application of Rana to speak with his family members is allowed, he could share key information related to the case as the investigation was at a crucial stage.

The Special Court has earlier allowed 18 days NIA custody of Rana, who was extradited from the United States, to unearth the whole conspiracy.
