Cannes: Former Miss World and Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai dazzled in a shimmery black gown at the Cannes Film Festival 2025, exuding elegance and grandeur.

On festival’s opening day, Rai paid homage to Indian heritage with an ivory Banarasi saree designed by Manish Malhotra, elegantly paired with a crimson jadau necklace adding regality to her look and applied deep red sindoor on her forehead, evoking a quintessential Indian elegance.

For the second day, she was seen in a completely new avatar that truly redefined red carpet glamour.

Draped in a audacious, form-sculpted couture gown titled ‘Heiress of Clam’, Rai’s outfit avant-garde elegance. was a custom-made piece of Gaurav Gupta Couture. The ensemble, a symphony of silver, gold, charcoal and obsidian hues, featured exquisite hand-embroidery that shimmered with every step.

Elevating the ensemble further was a handwoven Banarasi brocade cape inscribed with Sanskrit verses from the holy Bhagavad Gita, crafted in Varanasi. Wearing her hair down, she completed the look with bold red lips and minimal accessories. Online audiences and fashion connoisseurs alike hailed her appearance as both timeless and trailblazing.
