Five more positive COVID-19 cases in Goa

Panjim: Goa reported five more positive COVID-19 cases in the last 24-hours after being in the Green Zone with no COVID-19 cases for over a month.

Three more positive COVID-19 cases were detected. Seven people from Vasco had visited Kolkatta. Three tested positive on arrival during the rapid testing. Confirmatory tests are awaited from Goa Medical College (GMC). All seven have been quarantined.

One more positive COVID-19 case detected was of a truck cleaner accompanying pharma goods truck. The truck was coming from Haridwar. The truck cleaner tested positive on arrival during the rapid testing. The driver however reported negative results. Both admitted to South Goa District Hospital. Confirmatory tests awaited.

Another was a good transporter, 46 years of age, was found positive for COVID-19. He was told to visit GMC after complaint of fever early morning after he reached Panjim bus stand.

Goa now has reportedly 13 active cases. Eight positive COVID-19 cases were reported over the last three-days. Total cases in Goa since the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic stands at 19 cases.
