Chennai: Popular Tamil film actor and Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) Founder Vijayakanth passed away here on Thursday morning.
He ws 71.
He is survived by his wife and Party General Secretary Premalatha and two sons.
Mr Vijayakanth, hailed as ‘Captain’ by the DMDK cadres, was admitted to hospital
yesterday.
He later tested positive for COVID and died due to pneumonia, a bulletin from MIOT hospital, where he was admitted said.
It said the actor was put on ventilator support and died despite best of treatment
