After the rename notification issues by state concern departments, then the name of districts will be change: Fadnavis

Aurangabad: The central government has approved the naming of Aurangabad city as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on last evening with issuing approval letter by the Union Home Ministry to the General Administration Department of the State Government.

However,After the changing the name of the city, the revenue department, forest department and urban development department will issue a notification, then the name of the entire district will be changed, the process has also started for both the districts, Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis explained in a tweet message.

He aslo said that, when we do something, we do it completely leaving nothing half done,he tweeted.

It may note that,the letter was sent by the state government to the central government on October 20, 2022 requesting to rename the city of Aurangabad as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

It has been said in this letter that there is no objection to changing name of Aurangabad city as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

After the approval of the central government, the state government announced in the gazette that Aurangabad has been renamed as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Osmanabad as Dharashiv.

The notification in this regard was issued yesterday by the General Administration Department of the State Government.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis thanked the Central Government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for this decision.

Meanwhile, as soon as the decision to change the name to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar came, there was jubilation by bursting firecrackers in many places in Aurangabad district including the city by BJP, ABVP among others.

However, AIMIM MP Imtiaz Jalil has protested this naming. Jaleel has said in a tweet that he will hold a protest against this decision.

He also asked that, is the change of the city name will resolve all the issues including unemployment, basic facilities among others adding that history cannot erase.
