New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said all the three Water Treatment Plants (WTPs), which were temporarily shut down last week due to rise of water level above danger mark in Yamuna river, are made fully operational.
Earlier, Okhla and Chandrawal WTPs were started. On July 14, Kejriwal had informed that Okhla WTP was made operational because the water level had receded.
Taking to Twitter, Kejriwal wrote, “Wazirabad Water treatment plant has also started working on full capacity. Now all WTPs are working on full capacity. DJB worked very hard. Thank you DJB!”
Last week, the water level of the Yamuna river rose to 208.66, surpassing previous records. Consequently, roads near Red Fort, Ring Road, Civil Lines, and ITO were flooded, forcing residents of low‑lying areas to seek refuge on the roadside.
