B’desh: China opens up about US ban on RAB

Dhaka: China has now opened its mouth about the US ban on RAB as the country supported Sheikh Hasina’s statement on the ban.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said this at a regular press conference in Beijing on Wednesday, according to Embassy source told here on Thursday.

When asked about China’s position on Sheikh Hasina’s statement regarding the US ban on RAB, Wenbin said without directly mentioning the name of the United States, a certain country (the United States) cannot control gun violence and drug-related crimes in its own country. But they are again interfering in the internal affairs of many countries including Bangladesh.

Appreciating Hasina’s response to the US sanctions, the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry added that Hasina is not only talking about a strong position on behalf of the people of Bangladesh, but she also speaks the mind of the international community, especially the

developing world.

Wenbin said, we will fully support the protection of Bangladesh’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity and uphold an independent domestic and foreign policy. China firmly supports

the pursuit of a development path that suits national realities.

He further said, Bangladesh is committed to building a community with a common future for mankind based on the objectives and principles of the United Nations Charter, to oppose all forms of hegemony and power politics, to uphold the UN-centered international system, the international system bound by international law, and the fundamental norms governing international relations. And ready to work together with other countries.
