Bihar minister murder: SC hands down life term to ex-MLA, one more

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the conviction of two accused in the murder of Bihar Minister Brij Bihari Prasad in 1998 and sentenced them to life imprisonment.

The Apex Court held guilty former Bihar legislator Munna Sukhla and one more accused in the over two decade old murder.

The Court, however, acquitted former Member of Parliament Surajbhan Singh and five other accused in the case.

Prasad, a senior leader of Lalu Prasad’s Rashtriya Janata Dal, was murdered on the campus of Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Patna while he was on an evening walk.

The incident took place when Rabri Devi was the Chief Minister of Bihar.
