Hyderabad: The 23rd edition of BioAsia 2026, the flagship global life sciences and biotechnology summit organised by the Government of Telangana, commenced here on Tuesday at the HITEX Exhibition Centre.
The two-day event, themed “TechBio Unleashed: AI, Automation & the Biology Revolution”, has brought together policymakers, scientists, industry leaders, innovators and investors from across the globe.
Inaugurating the summit, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said Hyderabad has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past two decades, evolving from a city identified with Charminar, biryani, pharmaceuticals and software into a globally recognised hub for vaccines, biotechnology and advanced life sciences.
He said Hyderabad today stands as a preferred destination for global capability centres (GCCs), driven by a clear policy vision, availability of highly skilled human resources and strong academic and research institutions.

Genome Valley has been significantly expanded, while initiatives such as the “One Bio for the World” cloud-based research and innovation platform and accelerated bio-manufacturing programmes are strengthening the ecosystem.
Stating that this is not incremental but transformational growth, Revanth Reddy said BioAsia 2026 has attracted over 4,000 delegates representing more than 500 leading companies from the global life sciences ecosystem.
The event includes leaders from pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, vaccine science, healthcare, AI, manufacturing and public policy.
He expressed confidence that BioAsia, hosted in Hyderabad, would soon gain global recognition on par with platforms like the World Economic Forum at Davos.
Outlining the State’s long-term vision, the Chief Minister referred to “Telangana Rising 2047”, under which the government aims to make Telangana a USD 1 trillion economy by 2034–47.
He emphasised the need for deep collaboration between research labs, startups, MSMEs, industry and government, and invited global companies to invest in Telangana, establish GCCs, build innovation engines, design molecules and drugs, develop AI platforms, manage clinical analytics and drive digital manufacturing.
